New crew change vessel optimised to the extreme.

The hull of the new vessel has been through about 100 calculations. The same level of detail has influenced the propulsion system and propellers, which have also been thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance at 15 knots.

After careful consideration, ESVAGT has now ordered the next crew change vessel – and set the shipyard a hard task.

“No stone has been left unturned in the quest for optimisation,”

explains Kristian Ole Jakobsen, Chief Operating Officer for ESVAGT, describing the new crew change vessel that will take care of crew changes for ESVAGT from the summer of 2017.

Commissioning a vessel is already a complicated affair that includes a great number of specifications and calculations along the way. The decision to invest in a new crew change vessel from ESVAGT was extraordinarily long in the making – both to ensure that the vessel has all the facilities and comforts on board required and to ensure that the vessel is optimised for fuel consumption and overall energy consumption.

“Our needs and requirements have really pushed Havyards designers – and they have not disappointed us. The vessel is going to be fantastic by all measures. It will embody the wealth of experience we have in building and sailing vessels in the most energy-optimal way and we will combine our tried and tested solutions with new thinking and innovation,” says Kristian Ole Jakobsen.

The 88.4 metre long vessel will be the longest in the ESVAGT fleet and will have 75 single cabins with own bath and toilet. There will be room for at least 5 FRBs that, via a traversing davit system, can be launched from either side of the vessel. There will also be a crane positioned on the aft deck to handle DCs and STB12s.

We support the offshore Oil & Gas industries with a wide range of specialized services: Standby, Emergency Response and Resque Vessels (ERRV), Oil spill response, Firefighting, Tanker assists, Rig moves, Supply services and Interfield transfer of cargo and personnel.

In 2010, ESVAGT brought the dedicated offshore wind Service Operation Vessels (SOV) to the market. The SOVs provide accommodation for up to 40 technicians, storage for small turbine parts and a workshop, plus personnel and equipment transfer capabilities by either Walk-to-Work gangway system or Safe Transfer Boats.
